MANNEQUINS - BROKEN MUSES

I likes artifacts, especially when they are about to break apart. For me, they are unwanted still lives. The human touch in the frozen inanimate fascinates me as much as the brittleness and irrational self in human beings. For me broken mannequins are inspiring like the muses from the Greek mythology—archaic goddesses but with an important difference: They are made by people for people, sometimes not meant as artwork but rather as objects of utility. Forgotten and fractured, they show a certain form of timeless dignity—as BROKEN MUSES.
